  A magical part of Victoria. Its and easy walk, slightly up hill, to a beatiful waterfall that most people never see. Do take some water there is no real access to the river on the way up. Allow at least 1.5 hours to walk up and back.
  
  It is quite disturbing to see the infestation of scotch thisle on the track - it would be good to see that some work was done to deal with these noxious weeds!

  Rubicon Falls are beautiful, and well worth the walk to get there (walking access only).
  
  The road which starts near the Rubicon Power Station is quite rough - it's about a 3.5-4 km walk, but there are some nice views of the Rubicon River along the way.
  
  There is no access to the top or bottom of the falls, just a view from the road, but you can see the entire drop of the falls, so they are impressive. The falls are about 40 metres high.

  Currently a 3.5k uphill hire from the power station but the walk is picturesque and runs alongside the river. You can't get to the bottom of the falls and the view from the path is slightly obscured, but the flow of water is worth the walk.

  Waterfall itself was great but you are unable to see it from the base.
  
  We made the mistake of not reading other reviews and found the ROAD CLOSED and for good reason.
  
  We walked the 3KM each way to the waterfall. Track was extremely rocky and uneven, you couldn’t get a car down it if you tried. At one point there was a fallen tree and a landslide. Take caution.

  This place is really something special. Getting there is hard, though. The access road is now CLOSED PERMANENTLY to cars, even in summer. There are three locked gates, so don't think you will drive or ride a motorcycle. I rode a mountain bike up. It is steep, but coming down takes 10 minutes. Walking takes about 40 minutes. Accessing the falls is hard, too. Scrambling down from the lookout (at a landslip below a small cliff) is somewhat suicidal, and increasingly full of impassable brambles, so you could wade up from some point between there and the little powerstation. Many people will just not be able to get to them. With some imagination, the authorities could make this a great place for everyone, instead of just banning everyone. It makes no sense even in terms of conservation, since old growth forests are logged around here as anyone can see. For now, it's an adventure for scramblers and five star fun on a hot day .
